Most extension education is run by the company selling the hair.

So you learn their system, their tools and their talking points. You get certified in a product, not a craft. And the first time a client walks in with hair from a different supplier, the certificate doesn't help.

UNBRANDED is independent. Every method is taught at the level of the fibre, the adhesive, the bead and the bond, so you understand why it holds and why it fails, and can evaluate any product on the market for yourself. No brand sponsors these courses and none is recommended over another.

What you actually learn

Three layers, in this order, in every course.

  • The mechanism

    Why a tape adhesive holds and why it lets go. Why a silicone-lined bead grips without heat or glue. What temperature range actually forms a keratin bond. The fibre-level science behind every method, taught as the answer to a real chair-side problem, never as a lecture.

  • The method

    Tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips and beaded wefts, each with a full technique video filmed in the salon and step-by-step loops of the real install and removal. Consultation, colour matching, sectioning and troubleshooting are taught once, properly, and apply to every method.

  • The business

    Pricing logic instead of made-up numbers. Scripts for the hard conversations: the quote, the discount request, the client you have to say no to. A full toolkit of consultation forms, waivers, aftercare cards and a service menu, all editable and branded as yours.

Who is teaching you

Miranda Furtado has spent more than twenty years behind the chair as a Toronto hair extension specialist and educator, and twelve of them as the owner of her own salon. She holds 17 certifications across the major professional extension brands and served as a senior educator for one of the largest of them, which is exactly why she built UNBRANDED: she kept meeting excellent stylists who had only ever been taught one company's system and couldn't explain why it worked. Her teaching is mechanism-first. Every method in this course is explained at the level of the hair fibre, the adhesive, the bead and the bond, so you can evaluate any product on the market for yourself. She has trained stylists internationally, is a Contessa Awards finalist and a Behind The Chair One Shot finalist, and is a 2026 VZN Awards finalist for Extension Specialist of the Year. She is a licensed Ontario hairstylist and a former OPHA board member. Brand-trained. Brand-free.
